Concept and Design Brief
Initially proposed to be a duplex, the building later had to be designed as a triplex to accommodate all the functions demanded by the client. The key feature of the triplex is that the entire building is divided by the central atrium space. Each stair landing area has a separate floor as if the entire building motions a play of mezzanine floors. The variations and interrelation of the levels creates an exciting wave of space. The ground floor is for parking & its mezzanine floor is for dining, 1st floor is living room & its mezzanine floor for bedroom and the 2nd floor is family living & its mezzanine is for the master bed. There are also some other features like a green terrace area in front of the master bedroom, an indoor game & a gymnasium on the rooftop. Considering the sustainability in terms of climate and earthquakes, exposed reinforced concrete shear walls and columns have been used in the construction, so that the structural system can also contribute in making this architectural piece intervene with nature.
