Design Brief
Positioned in Cumilla, Mazumder Heights embodies a thoughtful approach to urban living, harmonizing communal connection with personal retreat. Rising seven stories on a compact site, the building is organized to encourage neighborhood interaction while preserving privacy and comfort within each residence. The design emphasizes openness and porosity, ensuring that natural light and cross ventilation penetrate deep into the interior spaces, thereby enhancing thermal comfort and reducing dependence on artificial systems.
Articulated through a restrained material palette of exposed brick, concrete, and greenery, the façade expresses warmth, permanence, and contextual resonance. Vertical and horizontal planes are thoughtfully modulated to break visual monotony, while projecting balconies and planted edges soften the building’s mass. The interplay of solid and void defines a rhythmic elevation that frames views, filters sunlight, and enriches the sensory experience of daily living. At the ground level, an inviting entry sequence and landscaped forecourt establish a strong connection between the building and its surroundings, reinforcing the intent to create a dwelling environment that is both socially engaging and spatially tranquil.
